From Bend to San Fran to NYC

From Bend to San Fran to NYC

We ran. We spoke. We listened. We signed books (lots!). We took selfies (with you!). We laughed. We cried (see photos below). Thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate the launch of Run Fast. Cook Fast. Eat Slow. We had hoped to visit more cities on this book tour, but we had to keep it short so Shalane could get back to training. Training?! Yep, she's not retiring just yet! You've probably heard the exciting news that Shalane has decided to run the NYC Marathon again.

Read about Flanagan's big decision to return to NYC to defend her marathon title in the NY Times.

Here are a few of our favorite photos from each city. And don't worry, we are still coming to Portland to celebrate with our hometown peeps. The date is TBD but it will be in Nov shortly after the NYC Marathon.

The moment during our book signing when our editor called to share the incredible news that our new cookbook made the New York Times Bestseller list. Shalane got all teary eyed!

Thank you to FootZone for hosting our run, talk, and signing; Thump Coffee for making 200 Superhero Muffins; and Picky Bars for bringing awesome samples of Elyse's Picky Performance Oatmeal

Huge shoutout to Fleet Feet SOMA for hosting our run and Book Passage for hosting the signing and staying super late so we could sign every single book. Thank you to the fans who ran with us, the running clubs who came out in full force, and those who waited in the line that wrapped around the outside of the Ferry Building. San Fran you rock! Also thank you to the Run Experience for the super fun live interview (but please work on your smoothie skills :0 ).

Where do we even begin! NYC always inspires us to dream big. NYRR went above and beyond by hosting us at the NYRR Run Center for back-to-back events. We loved meeting all the inspiring young women who are part of the Run For the Future program. We managed to squeeze in a few runs in Central Park and we enjoyed a fast paced media tour. Shalane recorded an incredible interview with Norah O'Donnell from CBS This Morning and Elyse hung out at Shape Mag (read the interview).

And a few more photo highlights...

Get the shirts that we rocked during the tour.

Toasting with Can't Beet Me smoothies on our way to the airport!

Signing books at FootZone with our little assistant.

300+ runners joined us in San Fran!
