Run Fast Eat Slow Recipe Testers

We can’t believe it’s September and time for another Rise and Run cookbook contest! We think our recipes are pretty great, but we want to make sure that you think so too! We also want them to be easy to follow and approachable. This is why we need your help!

We’re looking for 10 volunteer recipe testers to join our Rise and Run recipe testing dream team! Now’s your chance to get a little taste of what is to come in our next cookbook Rise and Run, dedicated to the most important part of the day for any runner or athlete: the morning.

We’re looking for people who are passionate about running and nourishing your body with real food. You would be testing 10-12 recipes in the months of September and October. Testing our recipes means you’ll have to buy the ingredients, throw your apron on, follow the steps, devour the recipe, and fill out a form with your detailed, honest feedback.


HOW TO ENTER:

Send an e-mail to Natalie at info@runfasteatslow.com with:

  • Why you would make a great Rise and Run recipe tester (in less than 100 words)
  • Your favorite cooking tool
  • Your dream post-run breakfast
  • Any food allergies or dietary restrictions
  • Your Instagram Name (not required)

We welcome athletes of all levels, abilities, and backgrounds. No culinary skills required. 


THE RULES:

  • No posting the recipes online, but taste testers are encouraged!
  • Test the recipe exactly as written, no substitutions
  • Recipes will be sent by email so you can print it and take detailed notes right on the recipes while you cook
  • After testing and tasting (or devouring!) the recipes, complete a one page recipe feedback form

DEADLINE:

  • Our fan recipe testing team will be selected by September 14th
  • You will be notified via email if you were selected

THE PERKS:

  • Your name will appear in the book! (in the Acknowledgements section)
  • You will receive an autographed copy of Rise and Run once it launches
  • You get to try our new recipes before the rest of the world

This is a great opportunity. I love running, and I love finding QUICK, HEALTHY options for cooking for myself and my family. Have used the RFES and RFCFES cookbooks over and over. Post run dream breakfast is one I don’t have to cook lol! but if I do a quick veggie omelet with fresh fruit or quick smoothie works best for me. I am a vegetarian but cook meat for hubby – he will happily test out the meat recipes while I will devour the vegetarian options. my instagram is rosiehe1213 – and I am a FOODIE! This is great news! I’m very excited about the new book and for the opportunity to test out the recipes. I’m so passionate about food, cooking, and nutrition (I just embarked on a journey to become a certified nutritionist and health coach) as well as running and have always valued the importance of starting each morning with healthy and tasty food that will fuel me in my workouts. The RFES cookbooks have never let me down in the deliciousness of recipes, and I would be honored, humbled, and EXCITED to be a part of the team that makes this next book just as great!

Hmmm…my favorite cooking tool…now that is a tough one. I think at the top of my list would be my silicone baking mats. Baked goods and roasted veggies come out perfect every time, they save on cleanup, and are better for the environment (no need for aluminum foil!).

My dream post-run breakfast would be an egg and veggie scramble (with hot sauce, please!), whole-wheat English muffin, fresh fruit, and a breakfast meat. Don’t forget the coffee or tea!

I would love to be a recipe tester. Cooking and running are my passion. I have made just about every recipe from RFCFES and there are a few recipes that are staples in my house. The recipes are not only healthy but also delicious.

This is really cool: I’m actually fascinated by flavour pairings and think it’s rad that you’re encouraging followers to become involved in the beauty you’ve created of healthy encouragement for lifestyle.

The chemistry of taste is SO wild (eg: salt actually opens up the “sweet” sensing-taste buds on the tongue, thereby increasing the sweet taste (same as cinnamon).
