Rise & Run Retreat

Chamonix and Burgundy, France

It’s time to Rise and Run in the French Alps! NY Times Best-Selling Cookbook Author, Elyse Kopecky, invites you to join team Run Fast Eat Slow for a memorable week of adventure, luxury accommodations and top-notch culinary experiences in France.

This is the trip of a lifetime exclusively for 20 adventurous women who love good food, friendship, wine, and most importantly breath-taking alpine trail running. Every detail of this trip has been meticulously planned by Elyse and her local team based in France.

From Elyse:

“I’ve had this dream for years to lead a retreat in France to the two most memorable destinations from my time living abroad in Europe—Chamonix (French Alps) and Beaune (Burgundy). Chamonix holds a special place in my heart from spending many summer and winter holidays there trail running and skiing. Ten years ago, my husband and I got married beneath Mont Blanc. Full circle moment, our wedding planner, Monica Delevaux, is now our star event planner for this retreat. Monica has 20 years of experience in luxury destination event planning and lives in Chamonix.

The trip will begin with 3 days of epic trail running and then we will move to our second destination in the Burgundy wine region for recovery (think food + wine!). In Beaune we will attend a full day culinary experience at the Cook’s Atelier. This is the cooking school that inspired me to leave the corporate world to pursue my culinary passion full-time. I was thrilled to see that Marjorie and her family are still running their inspiring classes after all these years. I cannot wait to return with new friends to share this experience.”

This 7-day, 6-night retreat includes:

  • Your own private room in one of our two luxury Chamonix chalets or the legendary Mont Blanc Hotel and 5-star hotel accommodations in Beaune

Alpine Trail Run Experience:

Chamonix is the trail running capital of the world and home to the famous UTMB races. During our runs you will see cascading glaciers, sky-scraping granite peaks, and stunning views of Mont Blanc, the tallest peak in western Europe. The weather is unpredictable, so we will provide a packing list to be prepared for all elements. Expect daytime temperatures to be in the 50s to 60s with much cooler temps when we are at altitude. September is one of the drier months, so we are hoping for clear days.

All levels are welcome, but guests should have considerable trail running experience and doctor approval to run at altitude (the highest we will run is around 8,000 feet). You should be comfortable with steep and rocky terrain. We will divide into groups based on mileage preference and experience level. The pace will not be fast, but there will be a lot of uphill climbing (and worth it for the breathtaking views!). Guests are encouraged to hike when needed. The runs will vary in length from 8 to 15 miles with a few shorter options for recovery days. If you are training for a marathon, you can always add on extra mileage by opting to run back to the chalet.
